Kids Fishing Day on the Docks

Wow! What a great successful day for the kids. Thank you to Joshua Gerson of MDR Anglers for putting this together. And to Rick of Marina Del Rey Sportfishing for hosting the event on his docks. And to Dave at OKUMA who donated the rods. And to Larry Brown of MDRA and Larry Brown Charters. And Ron at West Marine who donated goodies. And to DFG. And to NOAA. And to... All the volunteers who showed up!

The fishing fun...

Early arrivals.  Some kids got started around 9 am.

This small fry youth seems to have picked up on the action.  He was having a blast!

Here the kids are lining the docks waiting for the next strike!

Dominic was excited to report to his mom on the drive home that he caught 25 fish!

Even a beautiful Calico Bass made an appearance for the kids.

It was a beautiful blue sky morning in Los Angeles.

Larry Brown is great with the kids.  Here he is teaching an environmental
awareness segment with the kids.  He also wrote and brochure on the topic.

What more can we say...  Small kids and big kids.  Learning to love the outdoors.  Success!
