We are conservation minded fishermen and conservationists. We do not
promote the wonton killing of these beautiful sea creatures. They
have every right to their space in the ocean we share and love.
they have a vital place in the Ecosystem. Sharks are slow to breed and Easy to kill with modern equipment. We in MDRA do obgect to Longlining practices and finning of sharks. We encourage our members and friends to release sharks when possible. However the usability of a healthy and productive fishery is also vital to all fishermen. When one has a California DFG Fishing License you are allowed one Shark per Person per Day. And as most of us go fishing on rare occasion and only kill one on just a few those occasions when a significant catch is hooked... Please understand we fishermen are caring users of the ocean resources. Enough of the Disclamer... Lets see some cool shark Catches! |
With the Mako's for Dollars tournament in MDR each year many fine fish have been brought in.
- One of nice one was a 632 Mako back in 1995.
- Tom Brooks hooked two fine fish in 1999.
