Battle of the Sexes 99
Sunday October 24th 1999
| The Ladies prevailed this year. The winner was Monaka Schoch with an 11.5 lb Halibut. The guy with the biggest fish was Craig Baxley with a 10.5 halibut. Both winners are new members. Melanie Miller and Dora Belda both had 6 to 8
pounders. Another new member Ed Syp caught his first halibut at 8.5 lbs. As usual Ken Brock caught the most fish with 5 halibut and 10 nice bass.
Following the contest was a dock party with many hors d'oeuvres brought by members and guests. It was difficult to decide which was the best as they were all so good. In the end, member Kim Cooley with her fiery chili barely edged out our illustrious pres, Allen Ventura who slaved for hours making his unique and very delicious California Rolls. |
 Fish all day and make it to the weigh in by no later than 5 p.m. to qualify. Heaviest Fish Wins 60 % Heaviest Fish caught by angler of the opposite sex Wins 40 % (no sharks, local game fish)
