We had a very good Halibut Derby. Over 150 anglers started their fishing under grey skies with a bay filled with mackerel and barracuda. They finished the day in sunny and blue skies. At the weigh in docks were lots of happy competitors and volunteers. Anglers fished from kayaks, skiffs, sport fishers and a big comfy party boat. While the picking’s were slim smiling anglers lined up to weigh in their catch of halibut or even a single rock fish, and share in the fun and get a picture with Deve McLaughlin our 2011 Miss Halibut. And a hearty thanks to Gisele Rebeiro, our photographer.
Started out as a gray day as the crew of volunteers set up.
Ed and Ken and Bob K are finished arranging the raffle prizes.
Deve McLaughlin, our lovely 2011 Miss Halibut, was surprised and confused
by the "No Fishing" sign next to our old 2009 Halibut Derby banner.
